CLOSED 2022 Disaster Relief - Tropical Cyclones Ana / Batsirai Fund
In late January, Tropical Cyclone Ana brought strong winds and heavy rains to parts of Madagascar, Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, impacting hundreds of thousands of people with devastating floods and landslides. At least 116 people have died, tens of thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed along with schools, health centers, businesses, and infrastructure. Just two weeks later Tropical Cyclone Batsirai made landfall on the east coast of Madagascar with wind gusts of 146mph and torrential rains, causing at least 10 additional fatalities and displacing another 50,000 people; impacting many of the same areas already suffering from Tropical Cyclone Ana. Whole villages are reported to have been washed away by the latest storm.
Cisco Foundation has launched a $250K Tropical Cyclone Ana Disaster Relief campaign to support the efforts of the organizations listed below.
