American Diabetes Association Diabetes Alert Day® is on March 23, 2021! Observed annually on the fourth Tuesday in March, Diabetes Alert Day is a one-day “wake-up call” that focuses on the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of understanding your risk. The American Diabetes Association supports camp for kids and their siblings living with diabetes. Diabetes camp is one of the best experiences that a child with diabetes can have. Camp is a place to learn self-confidence, independence from mom and dad, to be with other kids with diabetes ... and simply to have a great time. The Cisco Diabetes Network is celebrating World Diabetes Day by putting together an effort to raise funds to send kids to camp. Please us this an opportunity to contribute funds towards the ADA's efforts in putting on camps for kids. Please contribute to this amazing experience and utilize Cisco Matching through Brightfunds! World Diabetes Day, recognized annually on November 14th, is the world's largest diabetes awareness campaign. According to the International Diabetes Foundation, approximately 573 million people are living with diabetes around the globe. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2024 is "Diabetes and well-being" which highlights the importance of access to critical diabetic care in conjunction with achieving physical, emotional, and mental well-being. The following nonprofits are doing the critical work to raise awareness, assist those living with diabetes to access supplies and medication, and educate the public about diabetes with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
