Our food choices have a very direct impact on not just our own health but also the environment, farm workers and public health. This is also a social justice and inclusivity issue since research shows that minorities are disproportionately impacted due to factory farming. The NGO’s in this fund strive to create a more compassionate and inclusive world by enabling people to make more thoughtful plant based food choices. The good news is that in addition to Cisco Foundation matching, any donations made via this fund will be matched by an external investment fund, VegInvest, dollar for dollar up to $50k per NGO annually. Note that Cisco employee data will not be shared with VegInvest, only the total $ raised. As of April 2022, VegInvest has matched a total of $1,720 (of which $1,359 were donated by Cisco employees and $361 were donated by non employees).
