Hurricane Melissa, a powerful Category 5 hurricane, made landfall on Jamaica's southwestern coast on October 28, 2025. With winds up to 185 MPH, torrential rainfall, and extensive flooding, the impacts are expected to be catastrophic. Multiple fatalities were reported prior to landfall, power has been lost, and homes and infrastructure will face devastating impacts. Multiple other Caribbean nations are also at risk as the storm moves through the region in the coming days.
