From Center For Disaster Philanthropy: The 2022 Atlantic hurricane season is expected to be a daunting one. This Fund will focus on medium- and long-term recovery needs such as rebuilding homes and livelihoods, meeting the unique needs of vulnerable communities, and supporting mental health services. Why support is needed? In mid-September, Hurricane Fiona hit Puerto Rico as a Category 1 storm, causing widespread damage. Residents were faced with severe flooding, mud, rock, and landslides, and loss of power, communications, and access to potable water according to FEMA. Residents are still dealing with the fallout and struggling to return to safe living conditions.
